We Are Dedicated to Improving Your Life

Since 2006, Koop Family Physical Therapy has been dedicated to providing professional health care services to improve your quality of life. Our goal is to help alleviate your pain and restore mobility. In our eyes, you are not just a number, but you become a part of our family the moment you walk through our door. We will teach you how to manage your pain, restore your functioning, and prevent further disability. Our practice provides physical therapy services for all ages and offers aquatic therapy, joint replacement therapy, active release, and much more.

Meet Our Team

Douglas Koop, DPT
Douglas Koop, DPT

Physical Therapist

Doug attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree in business and went on to earn a Master of Physical Therapy in 1998 from Ohio University. After graduating, he moved to South Carolina, where he worked at an outpatient facility in Clemson for three years. Doug returned to his hometown of Toledo in 2001 to be closer to his family. He worked at an outpatient physical therapy facility for five years before opening Koop Family Physical Therapy in 2006. He went on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011 from Ohio University. He has also been certified in the Active Release Technique (ART). Doug enjoys spending his free time with his wife, four children and foster children.

Michelle Koop, DPT
Michelle Koop, DPT

Physical Therapist

Michelle graduated with a bachelor's degree in Science in 1996 from Ohio University and continued her education at OU, earning her Master of Physical Therapy in 1998. After graduating, she worked at an outpatient physical therapy facility in Greenville, SC. In 2001, Michelle and Doug moved to Toledo to be closer to Doug's family. Michelle concentrated mostly on raising their family, but also worked at several physical therapy facilities. She has experience with acute care, sub-acute care, long-term care, home health and outpatient care. Michelle manages the office and the billing at Koop Family Physical Therapy. In 2011, she went on to achieve a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ohio University. Michelle enjoys outdoor exercise and spending her free time with her family and foster children.

Megan Perry
Megan Perry

Physical Therapist Assistant

Megan Perry has been the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Koop Family Physical Therapy since 2007. She graduated from the Owens Community College PTA program and has been licensed in the state of Ohio since 2000. Though she has worked most of her career in an outpatient orthopedic setting, Megan has experience in acute care, rehabilitation, and home health. With her 22 years of experience in an aquatic therapy setting, Megan is currently in charge of running our Aquatics program. She spends her free time with her 2 daughters.

Nancy Vendemo
Nancy Vendemo

Front Desk

Nancy Vendemo joined the Koop Family Physical Therapy team in July, 2013. Her long and varied career includes work experiences in insurance (auto, home, commercial and health), accounting, family support as a Parent Partner/contractor with the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities and as a homemaker and mother of two. Nancy has an associate's degree in Medical Billing and Coding and has been a Certified Professional Coder of the AAPC (American Association of Professional Coders). For Nancy, family is everything. She appreciates the family atmosphere in the office, not only with her co-workers but also with the patients, who also become a part of the family here at Koop Family Physical Therapy.
